Entry Requirements
1. Applicant should have got high school diploma or to be awarded with a high school diploma before June of their enrollment year. Ethnic Chinese applicants with valid foreign passports shall meet requirements stipulated in "Notice of the Ministry of Education on Regulating the Enrollment of International Students in Higher Education Institutions in China".
2. Applicant under 18 by 20th of August of the enrollment year should confirm a guardian based in Guangdong Province.
If the guardian is not one of the applicant's parents, the applicant should provide an authorization letter that has been certified by the local Chinese Embassy.
The Authorization Letter can be provided before an offer is issued.
3. Applicant should be academically prepared for rigorous STEM study across Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
4. Applicant should be fluent in English. Chinese Language Proficiency is not required.
5. Applicant should not have any criminal-record and must follow the law of China and regulations of SUSTech.

After conducting extensive research into SUSTECH for a while. I've found that this university stands out amongst the others as SUSTECH provides and hold properties that meets my specification of what I consider an ideal university.
Geographically, SUSTECH is placed at Shenzhen which is one of the most developed technologically as may technological parts and products are manufactured there. Shenzhen is also widely known for its massive shopping centers. Shenzhen is located in the southeast of china which means getting to Hong Kong would be quite easy compared to other universities. Essentially the location in which SUSTECH is in is an ideal place for me as a computer science student as it would allow me to be fully updated with the new and upcoming technologies with the massive shopping malls. Furthermore, I could also travel to Hong Kong to check out technological crafts and products overseas.
Academically, the department of computer science and engineering at SUSTECH understands how the world is rapidly changing due to the use of technology. This results in a high demand for people with computer science knowledge and skills. With this as a driving force, SUSTECH’s department of computer science and engineering aims to educate student to be innovative at the highest possible quality. To achieve this SUSTECH cultivates professionals with comprehensive quality and skills, supports 5 different specific routes/majors of computer science and collaborate with other well-known universities. Similarly, I also predict that computer science will be a highly demanding career, with the same goal and vision, I believe SUSTECH will guide me to what I need for a computer science career.- 6 Years ago

Program Description
1. Program Overview
Editor Notes: Computer Science and Technology is a hot program and the IT talents are highly in demand.
Computer Science and Technology is an area with great market demand and potential, in an acute shortage of fully developed talents. With the rapid development of data, information, and AI technologies, which boost modern enterprises, the shortage will grow exponentially. Predictably, those high-quality, innovative, interdisciplinary IT talents will be highly appreciated by the market as the up-to-date computer technology grows intensive, ubiquitous, interdisciplinary, and competitive.
2. Objectives and Learning Outcomes
Editor Notes: Most graduates work in IT related education, management, scientific research and industrial applications in universities, research institutes, administrations, public sectors and industries.
This major will cultivate high-quality computer science and technology talents with solid theoretical foundations, modern system design principles, effective research and exploration methods, and useful English and computer application skills, who are competent to the positions from the design of computer systems to the development of computer applications. The graduates can continue the study in pursue of higher degrees or work in IT related education, management, scientific research and industrial applications in universities, research institutes, administrations, public sectors and industries.

Data Structures and Algorithm Analysis, Digital Logic, Probability and Statistics, Principles of Database Systems, Discrete Mathematics, Computer Organization, Algorithm Design and Analysis, Embedded System and Microcomputer Principle, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Networks, Object-oriented Analysis and Design, Operating Systems, Software Engineering and so on.
4. Pre-requisites for Major Declaration

5. Requirements for GE Required Courses
Editor Notes: This program includes science module, physical education, Chinese language & culture and English language education.

Students will undertake the English Placement Test and be placed into three levels according to the result of the test and their performance in the National College Entrance Exam. Students at different levels are required to take the courses with a different credit value in total.
Level A: 6 credits; SUSTech English III, and English for Academic Purposes
Level B: 10 credits; SUSTech English II, SUSTech English III, and English for Academic Purposes
Level C: 14 credits; SUSTech English I, SUSTech English II, SUSTech English III, and English for Academic Purposes.
6. Requirements for GE Elective Courses
Editor Notes: Students are required to complete 2 credits for Humanities Module, 2 credits for Social Sciences Module, and 2 credits for the Music and Art Module.
(I) Students are required to complete 4 credits for the Humanities Module and Social Sciences Module respectively, and 2 credits for the Music and Art Module. (Information about the available courses and the instruction language will be announced before the course selection session)
(II) Students are required to complete 2 credits for Science Module
